Recommended first-time facial, giving me time to get to know your skin’s needs. After a skin analysis a deep cleanse and gentle exfoliation follows. The next steps are extraction if needed, face, neck, decollete massage and the application of a treatment masque with a hand and arm massage.

As a certified face yoga coach, I enjoy teaching my clients face yoga exercises specific to their problem areas. If done daily this can strengten and tone weak facial muscles and relax overstimulated tight facial muscles. This is a holistic, natural way to lift and tone the face.

Madero Wood Therapy
Wood therapy has been practiced for centuries in Asian countries. A Colombian therapist developed a unique wood therapy method in the 1980’s which became very trendy in body contouring and facial sculpting in aesthetics. Many different wood roller tools are used to improve circulation and oxygen supply to the skin, decrease swelling below the eyes, tone, lift and prevent premature aging of the skin. Massage using wood rollers are part the Sculptice facial but can be used in any other facial as well.

LED Light Therapy
LED (light emitting diode) is used in facials to stimulate skin rejuvenation at the cellular level. LED stimulates the production of ATP, energy supply for the cells. In 1990 NASA started using LED medically to promote wound healing and tissue growth. The LED light is positioned directly a few inches away from your skin. Your eyes will be covered and you can relax and rest while the glow of the LEDs bathe your skin.

Body Scrub
This treatment starts with a dry brush massage to stimulate blood circulation and sluff off dead skin cells. A scrub mixture of Chinese herbal grains is massaged into the skin, releasing natural AHA’s. Key ingredients of this exfoliation: Knotwood root, chinese raspberry fruit, dried dogwood fruit and jujube seeds. The scrub is removed with warm towels followed by a light massage with body butter.

Body Wrap
The body wrap treatment starts with an exfoliating dry brush massage after which Moor essence gel is applied to the skin. This 100% natural body gel contains Canadian willow extract and aloe vera. A body cocoon will be created by wrapping you in a thermal spa blanket creating a warming sauna effect promoting detoxification. During your time in the body wrap (20 min.) a facial massage or moisturizing masque will be applied. The body masque will be removed with warm towels followed by a light massage with body butter.

About Sigrid
Sigrid Vayda is a European trained Master Esthetician with a strong background in holistic German spa treatments. Here in the US, she trained further to become NCEA certified as well as a licensed esthetic instructor. Attaining the National Esthetician Certification is the highest voluntary credential in the United States. Sigrid received her esthetics diploma in Frankfurt, Germany and worked at a destination spa in the town of Bad Nauheim, Germany. After her move to the United States, she also studied medicinal herbology and apprenticed with local herbalists, Deb Soule of Avena Botanicals in Rockland, Maine, and Corinne Martin of Cornish, Maine.
These years started her passion for merging the classical European facial with holistic herbalism. In time, teaching workshops and formulating herbal skincare products followed. Sigrid also worked many years as a licensed practical visiting nurse with a specialty in wound care. The study of nursing has greatly benefitted and influenced her approach to skin care. Her original skin care studio “Renaissance Esthetics” in South Portland, Maine has now grown and changed into a holistic spa studio here in Woodstock, Vermont: “REVIVE esthetics”. Here you will find quiet and peaceful surroundings where you can relax and renew.

Skincare techniques
My personal approach to esthetics includes the belief in the long-term effects of holistic wellness, regarding the whole being, rather than high-tech, quick-fix modalities. I am very interested in exploring holistic skincare techniques and tools from other cultures and the long ago past and incorporating them into my work. I place safety as my most important standard even at the cost of having to eliminate the newest popular state of the art machines in favor of time tested tools and techniques. My side studies in medicinal herbology and practical nursing with a specialty in wound care have shaped these philosophies and my approach to treatments in esthetics.
